Quality and craftmanship is not very good for a detector at PRICE 1300.00. U.S.A MINELAB Warranty Service IMO is poor. I did give performance a 9 when it works. Just don't expect long life out of the minelab se IMO. It started to have problems that would cuase pinpointing and the targets id system to be wrong and at times very frustrating aT THE SAME SITES. I would have to reboot the system and then put in my old setting to fix the problem untill this stop working. Yes I keep my loop cover clean.

But before it started to have problems the detector work great mybe i got a lemon but u.s.a minelab warranty service IMO is BAD and why I will NOT be BUYING another MINELAB!!!!! Quality and craftmanship Is POOR for 1300.00 dollar detector.

I did not fine it to hard to learn but I was digging anything that hit in the + area. Which will teach you the readings and should be done at ever new site you go to.

Imo if you got minelab se that has hard time pinpointing you got a lemon.

Overall Rating: 5

Settings & Options: 8

Ease of Use: 7

Affordability: 1

Quality & Craftmanship: 4

Performance: 9

Battery Life: 6

Possibly the best all around detector in the Whites line up. Super performance, ease of use with quick adjustments, Sturdy, well balanced,

Have not been able to find another detector that is more of a pleasure to use than the MXT, and I have tried many. You can keep your touch pads and 9 trillion frequencies because everytime I am on a group or competition hunt or on a relic hunt with different brands anything can find the stuff so it's more about what feels right to you that matters.

Overall Rating: 10

Settings & Options: 8

Very versatile machine, great for hunting coins. A bit heavy, would be better if it would weigh between 2.8 to 3.4lbs. It would be nice if Garrett would update the DSP processing to today's technology.

Overall Rating: 8
